Well, Hon, Francis and I fistbumped our way to Anaheim to meetup with the ever awesome folks at AMSA. Day one was surprisingly epic, as we got to play the Healing Blade game with more than a few interested pre-med and med-students. We were pleasantly surprised with how much fun people were having with the game, despite the fact that it was not the usual microbiology / therapeutics fare. Shoutouts to Abigail, Matt, Zach, Todd, and the rest of folks that took time to come down and hang with us. Also, Francis will be doing ‘challenge rounds’ with prizes and giveaways that we’ll be taking for this years answer to the ‘Fistbump Montage’. Increase the Peeeece!

Hey
I met you guys at the convention–Just wanted to say that you guys are awesome!
You folks are businessfolks, right? You’re interested in selling as much stuff as possible, right? I read about Healingblade in The Scientist, immediately thought of how much fun it would be to play this game with my kids, but one look at the artwork snuffed that ambition right out. Any chance of making an edition without the T and A, or maybe just cranking it down a degree? Seriously, why flip the bird to an entire market? I’m sure there are many others out there who’d buy it for kids except that all the breasts and buttucks make them uncomfortable.
@silentsovereign – thank you very much!
.
@mike_holloway – we’re actually just a bunch of docs with a little too much free time on our hands ;p. Still, your points are valid, and on our box it states that the game is really meant for people aged 13 and older, and even that was a stretch, as truthfully, the game was designed for health sciences, pre-med and med students. I would say that our most risque images are perhaps appropriately the sexually-transmitted bacteria T. pallidum and N. gonorrhoeae, and we would question the utility of teaching pre-teens the ins and outs (sic) of those particular disease treatments. There’s probably a public health argument to be made here, but I’ll defer to experts on that particular can of worms
